Aqua Yoga
We work towards strengthening and stretching the body in a way that is safe and accessible to all. By focusing on correct alignment, breath work, and listening to the body everyone can experience the benefits of yoga in an aquatic setting.
Joints in Motion
Slow moving class that uses stretching techniques for joints and muscles, while working on strength, flexibility, and balance.
Heart Racers
This class emphasizes aerobic endurance and strength training while fostering an enjoyable atmosphere with music. Most exercises are performed vertically in waist-deep or deeper water. Each session includes a warm-up, cardio and strength training segments, and a cool down. The benefits of this class include increased muscle strength, improved endurance, enhanced flexibility, low impact on the joints, and stress relief.
Hydro Power
This is an water aerobic based strength training class accompanied by upbeat music that will use a combination water weights, pool noodles, pool walls, and man/woman power.
Strong in 45
This class combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training mixed with martial arts and kickboxing moves synced to original music that has been specifically designed to match every single move. Every squat, every lunge, every jumping jack, modified for an aquatic environment, is driven by the music, helping you make it to that last rep, and maybe even five more.
Tai Chi
for Arthritis and Fall Prevention: Master the art of Tai Chi. This gentle movement will help with arthritis and fall prevention. We will work on strength, power, and deliberate movements. This class is open to anyone who would like to take it, you do not have to know Tai Chi or have Arthritis to enjoy this course.
Water Warriors
Contains components of running, swimming and deep end aerobics to be structured to the class participants. Comfort in the deep end of the water is highly suggested. Please make sure to bring a bottle of water to stay properly hydrated.

Roberta
Roberta has been teaching water aerobics for 35+ years. After Covid, she came up with the idea for Water Warriors, a deep water running class.

Janie
Janie has been with the Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center since 2016 leading water aerobics, assisting in swim classes and helping at the front desk.

Jennifer
Jennifer is full time with the Whitewater Parks and Recreation Department as the Adult Program Coordinator. She has danced since she was 2 ½ but recently learned the benefits of Tai Chi.

Kathy
Kathy has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years. Kathy's classes provide elements of breathwork, strength and balance.

Lynnette
Lynnette has been at the WAFC for years as an instructor. You can also find her on the lifeguard stand.
Lorrie came to the WAFC in late 2010 after retiring from the UW Madison medical school . In 2025 she began her 30th year teaching Joints in Motion, a low impact aquatic exercise class.
Lifeguard Training, Retraining, & WSI Class
Lifeguard Training
Lifeguard training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond
to emergencies in and around the pool and water park environments.
Participants must successfully complete the following pre-requisites:

15-years-old

Complete a 300 yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke.

Tread water two minutes using only legs.
-
Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10 pound brick from the deep end and swim back to the shallow end with both hands on the brick within the given time limit.
Upon successful completion of water skills and written exam, participants receive certification in ARC Lifeguard and Waterpark skills (including CPR/1st Aid). The certification is valid for 2 years.
Lifeguard Re-Certification and Review
Participants must be currently Red Cross certified to participate. Contact the Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center to schedule a training date and time.
