The Whitewater Aquatic and Fitness Center offers group and private swim lessons.

Group Swim Lessons
Dive into confidence and skill with our group swim lessons, designed for swimmers of all ages and abilities! Each session is six weeks long with lessons meeting once a week. Lessons are available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Parent/Child Classes: Perfect for introducing little ones to the water! Parents join their child in the pool, creating a safe and supportive environment for early water exploration. These classes are for ages 6 months up to 3 years.

Swim Levels for Ages 3 and Up: Please read below for additional information regarding our four group swimming levels. Starting with the Introduction level and working up to the Skill Building level, our classes will help build comfort, confidence, and skills in the water! Classes are split into two age groups - 3-6 and 7-12.

Please note, not all levels are available every session, as offerings depend on the availability of trained instructors.

Group Swim Lessons
Parent-Child: (6 months-3 years)
Objective: Get child comfortable in the water using games and having the parents be there for support.
Main Skills: Getting used to the water, blowing bubbles, kicking on your stomach and back, floating all is done with the parents help.
Introduction Level (Ages 3-6, Ages 7-12)
Objective: For new swimmers without a parent in the water, this level focuses on introducing them to swimming and the aquatic environment. It is meant for swimmers with little to no swimming experience or those who have an active fear of the water.
Main Skills: Water entry/exit, bubbles and facial submersion, floating, kicking, and arm movement, with assistance.
Beginner Level (Ages 3-6, Ages 7-12)
Objective: This level is meant for those who are still newer to swimming but are comfortable in the water, including putting their face in the water. They will focus on continuing to build their skills with progressively less instructor assistance.
Main Skills: Jumping, floating, kicking, and arm movement with progressively less assistance, gliding, and further submersion.
Intermediate Level (Ages 3-6, Ages 7-12)
Objective: Swimmers are gaining full independence and building stamina in the water.
Main Skills: Breath control, treading water, introduction to stroke technique for front crawl and backstroke.
Skill Building (Ages 3-6, Ages 7-12)
Objective: Swimmers are continuing to build endurance and technique, as well as learn additional strokes.
Main Skills: Front crawl with rotary (side) breathing, backstroke, survival floating, tread water and introduction to diving, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. Swimmers in this level may be asked to swim in the lap pool as their endurance continues to grow.

Swim lessons will be offered on Wednesday evenings, Friday mornings, and Saturday mornings. Offerings will vary per morning.
